Her Name

Mary Macrina is named after Mary, the Mother of God, and Macrina the Younger, sister of St. Basil the Great and St. Gregory of Nyssa and friend of St. Gregory of Nazianzus.

Her mother calls her "Mary." Her father calls her "Macrina." Her brothers and sisters call her variously "Mary," "Mary Macrina" and "Mawwy Makweena."
