Hi again!

Well, in case you actually checked this archived entry, never mind! I noticed in passing that you captioned the icon and wrote the iconographer's name, which was the key to Google searching. So thank you!

Hi!

I came across your blog (lovely blog btw!) while searching for an icon of St. Mary of Egypt. I was wondering if you have the full version of this icon somewhere in digital format, or if you could point me to a website where they might have it.

Thank you for your help, and if you could reply to my email address that would be great!

Thanks!

In Christ,
S.

Christ is Risen!

I happened to be at the Orthodox orphanage in Guatemala (www.hogarafaelayau.org) the day that we did the Great Canon and Life of St. Mary of Egypt. I'd never read the complete text of either. To say it was amazing is just scratching the surface. The kids at the orphanage really blew me away with their sincerity when they all chanted "Tempiedad a mi, O Dios, tempiedad a mi" (have mercy on me, o God, have mercy on me) and made prostrations like they actually meant it - because they actually did. It was deeply moving. Just thought I'd share about my first time with both.
